Eyesore turned into movie set prior to redevelopment

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (CBS46) One of Atlanta’s biggest eyesores is in the spotlight again.

The property was purchased by Peacock Partnership several months ago, and the company has plans to revitalize the area. But before that happens, Hollywood has taken over.

New Harbin medical office building to be two-story, 40,000 SF structure

Plans for a new Harbin Clinic medical office building are now being reviewed by the Rome-Floyd County Building Inspection office.

Drafted by Peacock Architects, the new facility at the intersection of John Maddox Drive and Woodrow Wilson Way will be a two-story, 40,862-square-foot structure.

The new building, which is slated to house much of the Harbin women’s and children’s care programs, will include close to 50 examination rooms on the first floor of the building, which will feature more than 25,000 square feet of space. The second floor will have more than 15,000 square feet of working space.

UWG Plans Ribbon-Cutting for New Student Health Center

The University of West Georgia will celebrate the grand opening of its new Student Health Center. The new center, which has been officially open since the beginning of the spring semester, was built over the course of less than a year from groundbreaking to completion.

The joint venture with Tanner Health System will allow the university to better serve students with no increase in mandatory health fees. The 14,000-square-foot, $4 million facility provides more than twice the usable space as UWG’s former health services building. The new facility is located near the corner of Maple Street and the university’s west entrance, across the parking lot from Tyus Hall.

Tanner to Showcase Villa Rica Expansion

Saturday, Nov. 3, will likely be the public’s only opportunity to see the inside of one of the new, state-of-the-art operating suites at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica — while upright and awake, anyway.

Tanner Health System is inviting residents from throughout Carroll, Douglas, Haralson and Paulding counties to see first-hand the massive new emergency department and surgical services unit opening this fall in Villa Rica. The open house event will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Visitors will be able to tour the new emergency department and surgical services unit before the new space opens for patient care later in November.

City Station Grand Opening set for June 23

City Station is a Community Center located at 2115 Maple Street on 8.51 acres less than a mile from the University of West Georgia and adjacent to the GreenBelt. Southern Hills Church will relocate here, but will only utilize a portion of the space primarily on Sunday mornings. The project is intended to benefit county residents and the region at large.

Copy Of -Owner of Old Presidential Hotel shares vision of future

The property which has been neglected will soon transform into something respected. That according to Peacock Partnership CFO Steve Farrier. His company purchased the abandoned site less than two weeks ago.

"We see this as a great residential opportunity for seniors in the community," said Farrier.

Artist renderings show a complete renovation of the old tower, as well as construction of a new 12-story building next to it - providing housing for more than 400 senior citizens.

Iconic 'Spaghetti Junction' Tower To Be Revived Again, This Time As Senior Housing

The new owners of Spaghetti Junction's most iconic real estate are looking to pump millions of dollars into the decrepit structure to appeal to a demographic that remembers when it was a premier Atlanta hotel.

Atlanta-based Peacock Partnership purchased 4001 Presidential Parkway, the iconic cylindrical 15-story building lording over the scrambled, elevated intersection of Interstates 85 and 285 — known as Spaghetti Junction — that has been mostly vacant for years. Peacock purchased the building from Hays Financial Consulting for an undisclosed sum.

The developers plan to transform the 45-year-old former hotel into a more-than-400-unit active senior living facility after spending up to $70M to completely renovate it, Greystone Brown Real Estate Advisors Director Taylor Brown said. Greystone was tapped by Hayes Financial to sell the troubled building.

Spaghetti Junction eyesore sold, "Presidential Tower" slated for overhaul

A vacant 15-story tower that’s been an eyesore at Spaghetti Junction for years may finally have new life as a senior housing project.

Development group Peacock Partnership Inc. recently bought the former Presidential Hotel at the I-285 and I-85 interchange. Peacock will move ahead with plans to convert the property into senior housing.

Spaghetti Junction’s iconic, rundown tower sold for redevelopment

Presidential Tower, the dilapidated icon looming over Spaghetti Junction, has officially been sold.

Peacock Partnership intends to redevelop the property, built in 1973 near the convergence of I-285 and I-85, as senior housing. The tower used to be a hotel and condos but fell into disrepair in recent years as it sat vacant.

Peacock Partnership, Inc. Acquiring Former Presidential Hotel – Plans Senior Housing Development

(“Peacock”) has received unanimous approval from the DeKalb County Commissioners for Special Land Use Permits to redevelop the former Presidential Hotel property near the I-285/I-85 interchange into a premier senior community. New Gymnastics Facility for Carroll County

The Carroll County Board of Commissioners approved construction of a 20,500 square foot Gymnastics facility during their meeting on Tuesday, February 6th. Carroll County Recreation Department posted the following message on Facebook, “The Carroll County Recreation Department is excited to announce that the Carroll County Board of Commissioners has approved the building of a 20,500 square foot Gymnastics facility. Construction will begin immediately. The facility will be located at the Carroll County Recreation Department complex at 1201 Newnan Road.

The facility will be a single story building containing a mezzanine level for spectator seating. This will also feature an in ground foam pit, a preschool/tot room, and a tech bar where participants will be able to do their homework. The facility will be a tremendous asset to the Carroll County Recreation Department and will be utilized by generations to come!”

West Georgia Unveils Plans for New Student Health Center

The University of West Georgia unveiled plans for a new, state-of-the-art student health center that, when built through a partnership with Tanner Health System, will allow the university to better serve students with no increase in mandatory health fees.

The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents today approved construction of the 14,500-square-foot, $4 million facility, which will provide more than twice the usable space as UWG’s current health services building. The number of exam rooms will double from eight to 16 and the building will house a medical lab and pharmacy, as well as wellness and advocacy services.

Floyd County Jail Medical Facility

Peacock Partnership, Inc. awarded contract for the Floyd County Jail Medical Facility design services. The proposed $63.8 million SPLOST package contains a $5.2 million earmark for Phase II of the jail medical facility project. If it’s approved in November, collections would start immediately after the current SPLOST expires on March 31, 2019.

City Station

A new community center, City Station, is soon to be added to the Carrollton Community by the local Southern Hills Christian Church. The community center will be open to the public seven days a week and will offer many different resources for the citizens of Carrollton. These features include student housing, a fitness center, daycare, free Wi-Fi and much more.

“We decided about three years ago to move forward with the vision of City Station,” said Shannon Lovelady, lead pastor at Southern Hills. “The overall concept of using our facilities seven days a week has been something we have dreamed about for years, but the specific vision of City Station has transpired over the last three-and-a-half years.” Lovelady has been the lead pastor at Southern Hills for the past four years, so this is something he has been continually working on throughout his time here.

Peacock Partnership provides design and construction services for new Floyd County Animal Shelter

Peacock Partnership recently completed the design and construction of a 18,000 SF Animal Shelter for Floyd County. The facility has space for 230 dogs and cats and features a surgical suite, separate areas for surrender and adoption, and a medical grade HVAC system to prevent cross-contamination between animals. We were proud to be a part of this project that provides a state of the art facility for the care of animals.

Villa Rica hospital begins work on $37 million expansion

On Tuesday, local leaders, medical staff and Tanner Health System leadership turned the first shovelfuls of dirt on a $37 million expansion that will include construction of a new emergency department and surgical services center.

The entire project will include 80,740 square feet of facility space, including the renovation of 3,368 square feet of existing space. The expansion was designed by lead architect Paul Reichert, with Peacock Partnership. RA-LIN and Associates will serve as the general contractor.
